Raina Lipsitz writes about politics and culture. Her work has appeared in Al Jazeera America, The Appeal, The Atlantic, The Conversationalist, The Nation, and The New Republic, among other publications. In 2016, the National Women’s Political Caucus honored her with an Exceptional Merit in Media Award (EMMA) for outstanding work on issues of importance to women and girls. She serves on the advisory board of New York Focus.

Raina is a proud native of Buffalo, New York. She currently lives in Brooklyn with a handsome New Mexican, a brick-red futon, an ancient laptop, and several precarious stacks of books and magazines.
